An analysis on construction of wind farms has been compiled

10. June 2010.a.

The Estonian Council of Environmental NGOs (EKO), an umbrella organisation for nine most active Estonian environmental NGOs, presented today an analysis ordered by it and compiled by experts at Estonian Environmental Law Center and Estonian Green Movement - Friends of Earth Estonia.

EELC compiled the overview of the regulation on constructing wind farms and the issues with its application in practice.

The lawyers of EELC draw the conclusion that construction of wind farms in Estonia is carried out without the guidance on the national level and the legislation enables to make decisions about the construction of wind farms without their impacts being assessed on the appropriate level and the location of them taken into consideration.

The analysis is available in Estonian here.
